Newport, Oregon & Pacific Shores Perfection

Updated: Sep 15, 2021

I was in love with Pacific Shore Motorcoach Resort the minute we pulled into the gates.

We were greeted by a friendly staff member who did a no-contact check in beside our bus. We were guided right to our parking spot for the week and handed all the information we needed without asking one question.

We booked a premium site spot, it was not ocean front, but you could see the ocean from our location and it was just fine. I could not wait to check out the beach and walking trails, but I made myself clean the bus interior first and then adventured alone toward the ocean.

The park has so many very manicured trails in gorgeous landscapes. I discovered a little swing that sat in the midst of greenery and blueberry bushes overlooking the Pacific ocean.

The famous Yaquina Lighthouse is also within view of the semi-private beach that you have access to when staying at the RV park. I think I just sat in the glow of the sun and light breeze for over an hour smiling. I LOVE this place.

I discovered how to actually get to the beach quickly, and talked Mike into walking the dogs before dinner and happy hour cocktails. Our three-year-old rescue Doberman named Clyde had never really seen the ocean. He went wild frolicking in the waves and running as hard as he could along the wet sands on the beach. It was glorious to watch. It’s also glorious that your dogs can be OFF leash on this beach.

For dinner, Mike and I set up our tables and chairs and grilled out for the first night. We just wanted to relax and enjoy this luxury RV park. We dressed up the picnic table with fancy table clothes and candles. I even collected some driftwood along the beach to decorate our parking spot for the week.

The winds died down in the evening, and the sun was setting just above our lot. Could it get any better??? No.

Morning one in Newport. You guessed it. We found pickleball within ten miles of the park.

After a couple hours with a fun and engaging pickleball club, it was time to check out one of the local fish and chip shacks along the bay.
