Typically, when we head to Nashville, we either book a spot at the KOA by Opryland, or we ask to stay at Prevost, which is closer to downtown.
This trip, I wanted to check out a new RV park that looked a little more “bougie,” sitting right on a lake with a peninsula offering waterfront lots – Elm Hill RV Resort. We had no idea how far it would be from town, but we went with the hopes that we would discover a new Nashville home base when RVing.
We hit the jackpot! Not only is Elm Hill convenient to downtown, it’s serene, clean, and the staff are extremely friendly!
We were booked on site 6 on the premier waterfront section of the park, but we quickly discovered site 9 is the BEST in the park. We lucked out our first morning during coffee hour because the bus that had that site left early. So, we snuck over and sipped hot coffee from the swing located on the lot and watched Clyde tip toe in the lake as the sun rose. That got us pondering… is this lot if available tonight? We walked over to the office and luckily it was! So, we got permission to move our rig and had them put Goose and Emma on site 6, as they would arrive later that afternoon.
Since we found the perfect parking pad, we opted to host a welcome cook out for The Geese and enjoy the lake view. Our good friend and blues artist, Stacy Mitchhart, came to join us for steaks. We NEVER even left the park that night… we had our own jam session in the bus and turned in before midnight knowing the next morning would bring a LONG drive to Oklahoma.
